A lazy post, forgive me. (Copied from my other site.)

I must be getting older

As a child, I was indoctrinated with the idea that time would continue to speed up with each passing year. We all know that this is not the case, yet on a day to day basis I find myself comiserating with my customers on how quickly Fall has gone by this year.
It is well known that time moves faster in the eyes of adults than in the eyes of children. What is it that creates this illusion?
Size perhaps- adults are closer to the clock hung high on the wall, so it appears to move at a quicker pace... doubtful.
'Adults are busier.' I don't know - as a kid going to school, I got up at least an hour earlier than I do now, I walked to school, did home work and chores, and played relentlessly until bedtime... my "schedule" was quite full.
As a child I long awaited the adult stuff in life- getting to drive, not having to go to school, living on your own, etc., etc. Now I would give anything to go back to the carefree life of just being a kid. So anyhow, this time going to quickly thing must be wrapped up in the cares and responsibilies aspect of adult life. My question now is how can we adults get back a child's perspective of time without failing to fulfill our work and family related responsibilites?
Is it possible? Or maybe I am rambling endlessly because I've lost my mind- another sign of getting old..........

Work has kept me busy. Hmmm. That's a lame excuse for not writing. My life has actually been pretty exciting since I last wrote. Our church held it's VBS. Laura was one of the refreshment ladies (which I suspect was really the children's favorite part of the week), and I helped teach the 8 to double digits group. We had loads of fun, and thoroughly exhausted everyone over the age of 20 that was envolved. The most exciting aspect, however, is that the Sunday after it was all over (last week), a number of the kids came back! (I shouldn't sound so shocked...) Last Sunday two young women also joined our church. I actually shed a tear or two. It was so neat to have a small part in them both being there. The things God can do when you just pray and let Him be in you... I'm awed. Speaking of prayer- I was considering getting a loan so that I could afford a newer car. Going in to debt is something I've never been much interested in, it's just that our '93 escort is dying. The brakes are going bad, which puts a little more prayer and faith in the daily commute. My dad convinced me out of the debt idea, so I'm back to (where I should be) praying that God keeps it glued together and running, and gives us the means to save up for a new one (unless he has one somewhere he wants to give us... know of any car sweepstakes? or people with nice cars they don't want?). Anyhow, I appreciate your prayers. I need to go pick up my dog from the vet- she had her regular check up today. It was heartwrenching to leave here there.... she didn't care, she was excited, so many smells.

ATTENTION ALL VERITY STUDENTS

Do any of you know of anyone that has successfully completed the Nutrition degree through Verity? I have a friend that is thinking about doing this degree, and I'm hoping to either get her in touch with those that have finished it, or warn her away from it if it's not a good idea. I know you all are out there, and would love your comments on the subject. I loved Verity and would want it to be a good experience for others, not end in frustration from a lack of information up front. Thanks for your help.

It's over!

We are completely moved in, though not entirely unpacked yet. Let me say you find out who your friends are when you move, and we've got a lot of awesome friends! First off, our parents have been a huge blessing, I don't know what we would've done without them. And second, Don, Brianna, and Eric from church, Matt from Home Depot, and our cousin Chad all spent hours and a lot of energy just to help us out.
We like our new place for the most part, and the other parts will either be solved or gotten used to with time. God is good, and I can't wait to see where this road He's taking us down will lead.
Please pray for my parents save travel tomorrow- Friday, June 29th. They will be driving all day back to FL. *sniff sniff*
